Meeting and event space at ultra-modern luxury hotel to be rechristened in honor of the brand’s new art collection
Renovation greatly increases the square footage available at Langham Place for events of all types
October 2015 - Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue has announced the introduction of 7,600 square feet of brand new meeting and event space known as The Gallery at Langham Place. This $6 million USD renovation of the whole third floor of Langham Place practically doubles the square footage of existing meeting and event space at the hotel. Designed by Meyer Davis, a globally-recognized boutique design firm, The Gallery is comprised of expansive function and pre-function space, as well as ample space for breakouts and individual work spaces, and is appropriate for both business and social occasions of nearly any size.

Each section of The Gallery at Langham Place boasts the largest LED screens available; strong WiFi and easy-to-access technological capabilities for presenting; attractively hidden; leather-paneled separation walls; and high-end design elements, including wooden slatted ceilings and pin lighting, which allows for focused interior lighting instead of traditional fluorescent light panels, and the maximum use of natural day-light when possible. The piece de resistance of the renovation are a series of original art works by legendary New York artist, Alex Katz, whose work will be the sole focus of the hotel’s permanent art collection.
The Gallery is broken down into three main areas, named for the neighborhoods around the hotel, with customizable sizing options available within each. They are:
- The Kips Bay Suite, which includes 2,700 square feet of space bathed in natural light, includes a large function room and a pre-function Foyer, and is appropriate for meetings, conferences or large luncheons or dinners. The Kips Bay Suite can be divided into two smaller salons for more intimate meetings or events, and can be combined with the Madison Square Room, an attractive 1,475 square-foot board room and adjoining foyer, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and individual work stations outfitted with sockets and USB ports that can serve as individual works spaces or breakout stations.
- The Murray Hill Dining Room, a 2,000 square foot banquet space with adjacent Living Room, ideal for corporate luncheons or dinners, as well as celebratory events such as birthdays, anniversaries, charity events and bridal soirees. The Living Room portion is ideal for pre-event cocktails or the addition of food or dessert stations, or can be used on its own as a guest lounge.
- The Broadway Collection is made up of three smaller suites – Broadway West (690 square feet); Broadway North (370 square feet) and Broadway East (325 square feet) – that can be booked separately or together for board meetings, press junkets or private dinners, among other options. All three rooms together represent 1,385 square feet of space.
For corporate meetings and events, all of the meeting and break-out rooms within The Gallery will be outfitted with the highest quality technology available, 95-inch LED screens, free WiFi, wireless printers, Nespresso machines and mini-fridges stocked with complimentary water, soda and ice cream. The Gallery will also debut a ground-breaking price structure for meetings and events, including inclusive pricing that bundles the cost of space rental, catering for one meal (breakfast or lunch) and one coffee/tea break for one set price.
For social events and special occasions, the high-end décor elements of The Gallery, including the presence of the iconic artworks by Alex Katz that make up Langham Place’s permanent collection, lend an air of sophistication to the space. An expansive dining room and a well-appointed function room are ideal for weddings and other bridal events, bar and bat mitzvahs, birthdays and anniversary celebrations.
For all types of events, The Gallery will introduce customizable menus created in tandem with Executive Chef David Vandenabeele, reflecting all possible dietary, regional, cultural or seasonal culinary requests.
