The Langham, Chicago  is pleased to announce the appointment of Gaylord Lamy as its Director of Operations, effective immediately. A 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Lamy will oversee the hotel’s daily operations and manage the overall performance of its amenities, including the food and beverage outlets. With his appointment, The Langham, Chicago is primed to strengthen its presence in the Midwest landscape as a must-visit vertical resort for memorable experiences.

“Gaylord was previously our Director of Food and Beverage and he delivered nothing but excellence to our colleagues and guests,” says Managing Director Robert Schofield. “We are excited to have him in this new role, where he can continue educing superior performance from our amazing staff and enrich the legendary guest experiences we are known for.”

Prior to joining the Langham brand, he worked for Le Meridien Etoile and Hotel Meurice, meeting the food & beverage needs of these Paris-based hotels. In 2004, he was hired by The Langham, Boston and held numerous positions within the brand’s domestic and international properties. Most recently, he served as the Director of Food and Beverage for The Langham,

Boston followed by The Langham, Chicago, before being promoted to Director of Operations for The Langham, Chicago.

“Coming from the food & beverage sector, I am most excited about seeing and being involved with the other side of the hotel’s operations and processes,” says Lamy. “The opportunity is one I truly treasure and a challenge I look forward to.”

A native of France, Lamy earned a degree in food & wine service from Lycee Tecomah in Versailles and a degree in bartending from Lycee Auguste Escoffier in Cergy-Pontoise. Now a resident of Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, Lamy remains dedicated to familiarizing himself with other cultures.
