A Nutcracker Fairytale and Feast for the Holidays at The Langham, Hong Kong

Christmas characters, performances and seasonal fare for the festive occasion

(Hong Kong, 19 October 2016) – The Langham, Hong Kong hotel welcomes the holidays where guests enter the wondrous world of Nutcracker with themed menus and decorative pieces. The festive fantasy debuts on 1 December 2016 until the New Year where ornaments of Nutcracker soldiers, pink ballerinas and brightly lit Christmas trees are on full display, as well as a selection of sweet and savoury specialties in each of the dining outlets of the hotel.

Santa Claus makes an appearance spreading Christmas cheer on 24 – 26 December 2016 at 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. And Christmas carollers perform modern renditions of traditional holiday ballads in the hotel lobby on the evening of 24 – 25 December 2016 at 5:30 – 5:55 p.m. and 6:30 – 6:55 p.m. Guests can enjoy and sing along to their favourite yuletide tunes.

Palm Court

Inspired by the famed holiday tale, the Palm Court lounge introduces a Nutcracker Afternoon Tea. Executive Pastry Chef Matthieu Godard introduces a land of indulgence by portraying the story into bite-sized treats. The Nutcracker Mille-feuille plays the hero made of puff pastry, raspberry mousse and jam, while the heroine, Clara, has dancing pink sugar icing on top of a praline cream choux pastry. Other supporting sweets include the Christmas Tree with swirls of vanilla mousse and chestnut cream on a sweet dough base, The Log bearing 65% chocolate mousse and orange confit, as well as warm chocolate and plain scones served with Devonshire clotted cream, strawberry jam and rose preserve.

Savoury accompaniments include Smoked Salmon, Crème Fraîche, Basil and Black Truffle Butter sandwiches, and Pastrami, Sweet Corn and Dijon Mustard on Dark Rye Bread.

Dining guests of the Nutcracker Afternoon Tea will receive one complimentary bottle of Perrier-Jouët, N.V., Grand Brut Champagne per table of four guests or more while supplies last. 

Palm Court will also feature a dinner buffet with over 30 seasonal dishes, including fresh lobster and Roulade of Chicken and Chestnut, on the evening of 24 – 25 December 2016.

Live evening entertainment will take centre stage on 24 December 2016 at 7:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. and 31 December 2016 at 8:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. to usher in the New Year.

The Food Gallery

Making spirits bright is The Food Gallery’s buffet selection. Guests can tuck in to fresh oysters from around the world and Alaskan crab legs, as well as roasted Tom turkey served with all the trimmings. Asian fare will also be on offer with a Teppanyaki station of stuffed squid with minced pork, Korean-style Veal Flank Steak and Thai coconut red curry.

On the sweet side, an assortment of holiday desserts range from homemade stollen bread,  mince pies and warm Christmas pudding, to delicious creations of Chocolate and Caramel Logs and Mont Blanc Tarts.

The restaurant will also present unlimited Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream with a variety of flavours, fresh seasonal fruits, and a chocolate fountain supplied with a bounty of marshmallows, brownies, petite éclairs and more for the entire month of December.

Bostonian Seafood and Grill

 

Have a jolly good time at the Bostonian Seafood and Grill with its collection of seasonal semi-buffet Christmas menus. Showcasing an appetiser buffet spread, Executive Chef Pedro Samper boasts a series of new holiday main courses from the Pistachio Crusted Rack of Lamb Scented with Rosemary to the Slow-cooked Lobster with Butter Poached Scallops, Pea Shoot, and Ginger Sea Urchin Emulsion.

 

Available for lunch, brunch and dinner, the holiday menus will include a special dessert course of a Chestnut Log with Blackcurrant, Chocolate Earth, Meringue and Vanilla Ice Cream, and the Chocolate Symphony incorporating flavours of chocolate, raspberry, and passion fruit on the evening of Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Eve respectively.

Main St. Deli

 

Enjoy a stress-free holiday as Main St. Deli presents its annual turkey takeover with a feast for guests to take-away or dine at the restaurant. The sought-after Turkey-To-Go Combo features a U.S. Tom turkey with apple, sage and cornbread stuffing, pumpkin soup with toasted pistachios, honey roasted sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, pan gravy, and cranberry-orange sauce. A choice of Pumpkin Cheesecake, Maple-glazed Pecan Pie or Cherry Pie is also included to finish off on a sweet note.

 

For those who wish to dine at Main St. Deli comfortably, a 3-course set menu is available to satisfy any festive craving on 23 – 26 and 31 December 2016. Order the Christmas Shake to complement the meal which is a blend of caramel, cinnamon, vanilla ice cream, gingerbread and whipped cream throughout the month of December.

Artesian

 

Salute to the festive season and the New Year with the Artesian bar’s new crafted concoctions. Fall for the Spiked Apple Pie cocktail well shaken with Absolut Pear, Crème de Cassis, Frangelico, and Monin Apple Pie Syrup. Or have a taste of the holidays with the scented Spirit of Anise drink mixed with Michter’s Bourbon, Carpano Antica Formula, Pernod, and Frangelico.

 

Available throughout December, the Spiked Apple Pie is priced at HK$120 and the Spirit of Anise at HK$140 per cocktail.

 

 

 

T’ang Court

 

Tribute the year-end and welcome the New Year at the Three Michelin-star T’ang Court restaurant. Experience an exclusive seven-course New Year’s Eve dinner meticulously prepared by Executive Chef – Chinese Cuisine Kwong Wai Keung and his culinary team, featuring signature highlights of the Baked Stuffed Crab Shell with Crab Meat and Onion, the Braised Dried Abalone with Bêche-de-Mer, and much more.
