Children's Afternoon Tea with Hamleys

26th July 2016 – The Langham, London is delighted to launch its first Children’s Langham Afternoon Tea available from 1st August in the Palm Court. In partnership with Hamleys, the Afternoon Tea is part of a series of initiatives aimed at providing families an enjoyable experience within Regent Street’s Grand Hotel.

The Langham Children’s Afternoon Tea with Hamleys is available to children aged 12 years and under and each young diner will receive a complimentary Hamleys teddy bear as a token giveaway of their time at The Langham, London. Created by Cherish Finden, Executive Pastry Chef together with Chris King, Executive Chef of The Langham, London, the Afternoon Tea is a feast of colour and fun creations designed to capture the imagination of curious minds.

The traditional Afternoon Tea sandwiches have been customised by Chris King to create ‘Jigsaw Sandwiches’ in the form of a jigsaw puzzle shape for children to take apart. For the pastry, Cherish was inspired by the array of characters and storytelling within the Hamleys flagship Regent Street store to offer children a chance to emerge into an alternative reality of carefree fun.

The pastries comprise of a Carousel Cup Cake Swirl, a light and Vanilla sponge cake soak with Lemon syrup adorned with a carousel horse and the Cookie Monster Macaroon, flavoured with Blueberry bubblegum to provide a ‘pop’ of excitement. The Maltesers Chocolate Mousse provides a smooth texture to elevate the taste buds with an exquisite crunch of malt whilst the Langham Cold Chocolate is a new twist on the chocolatey delight, adapted for warmer climates. The final item is the Sweet Surprise Bag of assorted candy and classic sweets.

The tea is served atop a log and arranged as a playful picnic.
The Children’s Langham Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood is priced at £27.50 per child and available from 1st August.
