Children’s Afternoon Tea with Benji Davies
This May half term The Langham, London is delighted to welcome the award-winning children’s author and illustrator, Benji Davies to our Children’s Afternoon Tea in partnership with Daunt Books.
Making its return by popular demand, the event is a unique opportunity for young bookworms and their parents to spend an afternoon in the presence of a celebrated author. Benji will read extracts of his most popular work including; Grandpa’s Island, Grandma Bird and The Storm Whale.
To complete this magical event, the afternoon tea has been specifically designed to engage young minds (and fingers) as it’s interactive; with jigsaw puzzle sandwiches and a cake to assemble into a chocolate dog. Each of the little gourmets can then take home a signed copy of Grandpa’s Island, Grandma Bird, or The Storm Whale, alternatively select another book from a specially curated mini library, which caters for readers between 3 and 12 years of age, and take it home in a Daunt Books’ tote bag.
Needless to say, adult companions are well catered for too; they can enjoy The Langham’s contemporary take on afternoon tea, SeasonaliTea, which uses the finest ingredients to create the tastiest savouries and most delicious patisserie, and is served with an award-winning tea service.
The author reading takes place on 27th May 2019 at 12 noon, and requires advance booking. Children’s Afternoon Tea with Daunt Books is available every day from 12 noon until 5.30pm and costs £29.50 per child, while adults’ afternoon tea costs £55 per person.
