June 2015, …The winter school holidays are underway. To celebrate the launch of the new Minions movie, The Langham, Melbourne will be hosting a series of Minion-themed High Teas on weekdays from Monday 29th June until Friday 17th July at the award-winning Aria Bar & Lounge.
Taking inspiration from Minions’ instantly recognisable goggles, their signature yellow shape and distinctive blue outfits, there will be Minion goggle cupcakes, blue overall cookies, Scarlet Villain jelly, “It’s so fluffy” fairy floss and Evil Minion cake pops as well as fairy bread, fluffy scones, pineapple juice and hot chocolate.
“The Langham, Melbourne is now widely regarded as the birthplace of children’s high teas in Melbourne. Each school holidays we’re witnessing throngs of families with young children coming to the hotel to experience the wonderful tradition of morning and afternoon tea. Our pint-sized guests are accompanied by their parents, grandparents, godparents, aunts or uncles or use the occasion to celebrate their birthday with friends. On a busy month Aria Bar will serve over 4000 high teas,” commented The Langham, Melbourne’s Managing Director, Ben Sington.
“The Minions theme adds something quirky, new and whimsical that will appeal to boys as well as girls. It also offers the opportunity for children to practice their manners and experience a five star environment first-hand,” adds Sington.
Children can attend either a morning (10am- 11.30am) or afternoon (12pm -1.30pm) High tea.
The Minions High Tea is $35.00 per child or $49.00 including a Minion toy to take home. Adults are $59.00 each and includes a classic Afternoon Tea.
The Langham, Melbourne’s Aria Bar & Lounge was named Bar of the Year for the second consecutive year at the recent Tourism Accommodation Australia Awards for Excellence.
Aria Bar & Lounge is known equally for its series of Afternoon Teas including Classic Tiffin Afternoon Tea and decadent Chocolate Bar as well as being an intimate and inviting cocktail lounge at night.
