About the Film:
Home Alone, 1990, 103 minutes, USA, Dir: Chris Columbus
When 8-year-old troublemaker Kevin McAllister (Macaulay Culkin) feels unappreciated at the height of the holiday season, he wishes for his entire family to disappear. Surprisingly, his wish comes true when his parents (Catherine O'Hara and John Heard) accidentally leave Kevin behind as the whole family jets to Paris for Christmas. Just when Kevin begins to enjoy his newfound freedom, he realizes it's not all fun and games when he has to defend his house against a pair of bumbling neighborhood bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern). The family holiday classic was written by John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off) and directed by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Mrs. Doubtfire).
