CONNECT for a better, brighter tomorrow.
From our hotel, to society, to the environment, we realise that all our actions have reactions. Our CONNECT programme is our commitment to sustainable development in all the neighbourhoods we operate in. Four priorities – governance, environment, community, and colleagues – form and guide the framework of how we minimise our environmental footprint and constructively contribute to communities.
The Langham Huntington, Pasadena's commitment to sustainability has been recognized by EarthCheck, the world’s leading sustainable travel and tourism certification organization, for more than five consecutive years, measuring key indicators such as energy and water consumption, total waste production and community commitment.
Only companies that demonstrate practices that adhere to the highest standards receive the coveted Gold Certification. We successfully benchmark our operations annually by submitting operational data and having it compared to that of other similar organizations. By taking a holistic view of company practices, we are able to consistently identify where we are out-performing and where room for continual improvement remains.
The Langham Huntington, Pasadena contributes year-round efforts to local environmental and community activities through volunteer opportunities, donations and participation in local events. Annual happenings like Earth Hour, Loving Earth Month, Earth Day and various local charity events round out a full calendar of involvement with our neighbours and partner non-profits, highlighted by the following key yearly initiatives:
- Earth Hour
- 10,000 Steps Challenge
- Plant Sale at the Huntington Library
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation “One Walk”
- Five Acres
- 2015: EarthCheck Gold Certification
- 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011: EarthCheck Silver Certification
