NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR APPOINTED FOR THE LANGHAM, YANGTZE BOUTIQUE, SHANGHAI
Veteran China Hotelier Set to Lead Hotel Through World Expo 2010

Langham Hotels International has appointed Mr Henk Meyknecht as Managing Director of the group’s first China property – The Langham, Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai from March 1.
An industry leader for 25 years, Henk will lead an award-winning team at a property which has been recognised with six prestigious awards in its first six months of operation. He will continue to build on The Langham, Yangtze Boutique’s excellent reputation as one of the city’s new leading luxury hotels.
Announcing the appointment, Brett Butcher, Chief Executive Officer of Langham Hotels International said: “Henk has an in-depth knowledge and experience to lead The Langham, Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai through its next phase to build on its luxurious art deco heritage. The work of his team will set quality standards as our group expands rapidly in China.”
Henk Meyknecht said: “This is an exceptional opportunity in Shanghai’s World Expo year to build on The Langham, Yangtze Boutique’s tradition of excellence and to help realise the vast potential of the brand in Shanghai and China.
“By working closely with the staff, the community and our owners, I believe that we can build on the enormous achievement of opening the first Langham in Shanghai and China last year," he said.
Dutch-born Henk was most recently Area General Manager for Marco Polo hotels in China. His senior management career also spans SAS, Hilton, Peninsula and InterContinental in Europe, Middle East, North America and Asia.
