LANGHAM HOTELS INTERNATIONAL GETS EVEN MORE PERSONAL WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED PLUS
MICE Pledge Strikes a Chord with Meeting Planners

31 March, 2010

Langham Hotels International is launching No Strings Attached with a PLUS, an enhanced MICE pledge that will take personalised service to new levels with Delegate Concierges. The pledge features even more benefits while continuing to make life simple and efficient for meeting planners.

The programme was originally launched in 2009 to help planners during the downturn and continues to feature waivers on cancellation terms, attrition rates and internet charges as well as the removal of the food and beverage minimum requirements.

For 2010, the programme introduces Delegate Concierges which will serve the needs of all the attendees and not just the conference planner. The dedicated Delegate Concierge service will assist participants to focus on their event by running their day to day personal errands and last minute requests.

Alison Styles, Vice President – Sales for Langham Hotels International said: “While thankfully the global recovery appears to be underway, the key for success lies in financial prudence and accountability. The hospitality industry remains mindful that challenges still remain which is why we have retained all the key benefits of the original No Strings Attached and added further value for 2010.”

“The Delegate Concierge service is like giving attendees their own personal assistant while they are away from home,” she added.

Meanwhile, for qualified groups, complimentary pre-event site visits including airport transfers and accommodation will be offered.

During the event, the meeting planner and VIPs will continue to enjoy the benefits of the Langham’s takethelead MICE service commitments. These include special treats to pamper the meeting planner upon event completion, use of a complimentary mobile telephone as well as a dedicated office.

For takethelead members, if the event is valued at US$5,000 or more, then a ‘meeting credit’ can be used for the same meeting or applied to a future event which will save even more.

“Planners are still looking for hotels to be more flexible and responsive while still offering extraordinary levels of service,” said Ms Styles.

“The waivers in No Strings Attached PLUS and the meeting credits are effective ways of putting our best deals forward while the Delegate Concierge and added value elements reinforce our service. The hotel that offers this powerful combination is the one most likely to secure the business.”

”While sharing the risk with meeting planners, Langham offers flexibility with a human touch as we continue to invest in long term business partnerships,” she added.

Langham Hotels International No Strings Attached PLUS is valid for newly-contracted bookings taking place from now until 31 December 2010 at participating hotels.

No Strings Attached PLUS at a Glance*

Cancellation Terms Waived

Traditional meeting contracts include cancellation clauses which carry substantial penalties. No Strings Attached PLUS offers complete flexibility:

All deposits refunded if a meeting is cancelled at least 60 days prior to the event.
50% of your cancellation fee credited to your next meeting in 2011 at any Langham property around the world should you cancel within 60 days of the meeting.

No Attrition Rate Charges

Meeting contracts carry a charge if the minimum hotel room number is not met. This is now waived under Langham’s No Strings Attached PLUS pledge.

No Food and Beverage Minimums

Most meeting contracts stipulate a minimum food and beverage requirement. Langham Hotels International waives this for group bookings.
