( Hong Kong – 29 August 2005)  ----- The newly opened Chuan Spa at Langham Hotel, Melbourne has enhanced its early success in the luxury spa industry by gaining acceptance into the prestigious ranks of The Leading Spas of the World.

Officially launched on July 26 with a Feng Shui blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony with Antonia Kidman, a proponent of balanced lifestyle, Chuan Spa is the first spa in Australia to be accepted into the elite list of Leading Spas around the world.

Part of The Leading Hotels of the World, Leading Spas showcases outstanding spa facilities, spa treatments and spa services around the globe, providing the first and only global evaluation and certification process for the spa industry, including evaluation criteria of over 200 specific standards.

Chuan Spa is a haven for contemplation, renewal and relaxation. The 1,060 square metre spa and health club occupies two levels of the five-star hotel and provides hotel guests, day spa visitors and members with a state-of-the-art health club and a 15 meter indoor salt water pool and zero edge Jacuzzi with floor to ceiling fold back windows allowing expansive views of Melbourne’s skyline, stretching from Southbank to Federation Square. The spa offers more than 40 specialty spa treatments in a setting inspired by the principles of a traditional Chinese Garden, combining the finest traditions of the east and west.
