LANGHAM HOTELS INTERNATIONAL’S NEW TV COMMERCIAL DEBUTS IN NOVEMBER
(Hong Kong – 8 November 2005) --- Langham Hotels International (LHI) has launched its first TV commercial for global release in November, 2005. The TV commercial, titled "The Butler", depicts Langham's legendary history and its dedication to service and hospitality for over 140 years.
The television commercial starts with a glamorous press conference set in 2005 and attended by a famous celebrity who hands James, our ever present Butler, his cell phone for safe keeping during the conference.
The story then slowly follows James through a series of quintessential service scenes over the 140 years that Langham has been a household name for innovation in hospitality and genuine service. The scenes depict wartime England, the roaring twenties, the romantic aesthetic era from the late 1800s through the 1870s with exiled emperors to boot. The television commercial ends with a scene of the grand opening of the Hotel in 1865 officiated by none other than the Prince of Wales, soon to be King Edward VII. At this ceremony, James' cell phone begins to ring, connecting us back to the first scene where he was handed the phone by the famous celebrity in 2005.
Through the portrayal of the butler, the TV commercial reveals Langham’s dedication to service for over 140 years conveying the core message, “The Legend Lives, since 1865”.
"The Butler" was developed by Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Hong Kong and was filmed by Hong Kong’s award-winning commercial director, David Tsui.
"For 140 years, Langham has been at the forefront of sophisticated and gracious hospitality. It is a heritage and pedigree that is unique in the hotel industry," said Brett Butcher, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing of Langham Hotels International. "We employ the dedicated butler to project the enchanting hospitality experience that sets Langham apart from other mainstream five-star hotels."
