Introducing our Premier Boardroom - The Governor's Room

Spring has sprung here in Boston and the new season is bringing lots of new life to our iconic space. We kicked off the year with a video series taking you behind the scenes of our hotel’s renovation. And we are continuing that this month by taking a look at one of our favorite rooms in the hotel—the Governor’s Room.

Our teams at Dyer Brown, the design team at Richmond International, and Shawmut Design and Construction, have been hard at work bringing this new American classic to life. Throughout the entire process our goal has been to preserve the heritage of the building while introducing a new standard of modern luxury to Downtown Boston. And the Governor’s Room is the perfect example of that juxtaposition.

With our reopening a few months away we are so happy to bring you into the interior of the hotel—virtually! Watch the video below for a view into our premier meeting space—the Governor’s Room:

Once the Officers Lounge and conference room when the building was the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, the Governor’s Room, a dedicated boardroom, will now be available for events, meetings and gatherings when the hotel reopens.

The Governor’s Room will feature a private bathroom, foyer, and beautifully restored fireplace, giving your next meeting the ambiance and prestige that it deserves. The fireplace is original to the building from the 1920s and was carefully dismantled piece-by-piece, shifted over three feet to complement the new space and delicately restored during the renovation process.

The room will feature gold, teal and brown tones for a modern neutral color palate, making reference to the historic gravitas of the space, with a modern appeal. The décor also includes a striking chandelier hanging over the board room table, beautiful molding on the walls, plush plaid carpeting and lots of other subtle touches that will make this the place to hold your next high-level meeting. We can’t wait to host lots of businesses, philanthropies or other organizations in our Governor’s Room.

After a year of being apart we know that businesses, families and institutions are eager to come together in person once again, and we will be ready to play host before you know it! All events in the Governor’s Room will be catered by our in house team led by Executive Chef Stephen Bukoff, who we recently introduced in our last blog post. So be sure to read all about him and his plans for re-launching the food and beverage program at The Langham, Boston.
