Redesigned Guestrooms and Suites
If you have been following along on our renovation journey, you know that we kicked off the year with a video series taking you behind the scenes of our hotel’s transformation. This month we are so excited to share with you a little sneak peek into the spaces where we will host our wonderful visitors once again—our new guestrooms.
Inspired by travel, our location by the sea, and Boston’s unique heritage, our guestrooms incorporate a combination of past and present. Like the rest of the property, the goal is to both preserve the history of the space while introducing a new standard of modern luxury to Downtown Boston.
Our design team has left no stone unturned in creating the most luxurious and inviting guest quarters imaginable. Starting with the color palate—they have created a relaxing, refined space. The neutral tones welcome you in while the pops of blue spark your imagination—hinting at both Boston’s maritime tradition and the gorgeous views across the nearby Boston Harbor. This fresh combination of colors is meant to invite our guests in after a long journey; you’ll want to just take a deep relaxing breath as you walk through the door.
Watch the video below for a view into our new guestrooms:
The fresh take on paneling and molding is a nod to our storied past and bright future while creating a timeless ambiance reminiscent of our grand past as the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. And once you start to explore the furniture, a sense of adventure and exploration is woven into the mix as well. The chic cream and walnut cellaret was designed to resemble an antique traveler’s trunk, which in our case opens to reveal a fully stocked private bar with items from local purveyors. This can also be tucked away, creating a calming flow, as any home away from home should.
Surrounding the luxe tufted headboard, our art team has curated a selection of pieces that celebrate Boston’s culture, environment and history. You’ll notice everything from a vintage baseball player to a painting of Beacon Hill’s famous Acorn Street. Each piece represents a piece of what makes Boston—Boston. We hope that when guests from both near and far step into their room they are delighted by the subtle touches of intrigue throughout the space.
Our teams at Dyer Brown, the design team at Richmond International, and Shawmut Design and Construction, have been hard at work for months creating our new American classic. The Langham Boston will be back bigger and better than ever in just a short time. We are thrilled to not only welcome guests to stay with us, but also to host you at one of our wonderful new dining concepts led by our new Executive Chef Stephen Bukoff and our Director of Food & Beverage, Kyung Lee. Be sure to read about them both and all the things they have planned for our guests this year.
