Melba Restaurant’s talented brigade of chefs will delight diners by preparing a mix of festive favourites alongside contemporary dishes that include cuisines from around the globe. From Christmas Eve dinner right through until Boxing Day, Melba Restaurant has added a festive twist to breakfast, lunch and dinner over three days.
Christmas Eve Dinner
Even the fussiest eater will find something to enjoy on Christmas Eve as there are more than 70 dishes on offer including over 10 different cuisines and a selection of over a dozen desserts. Guests can kick off celebrations with a Christmas cocktail or glass of sparkling before enjoying a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings.
The Christmas Eve buffet offering includes Victorian sand crab, crayfish Mornay with Milawa cheddar and Timboon gratin, Coffin Bay oysters, Spencer Gulf king prawns, black mussels from nearby Mount Martha and locally sourced octopus from Port Phillip Bay.
Main course is a tempting mix of traditional turkey and glazed ham as well as dishes from Melba’s famous tandoor oven including swordfish and paneer made with tomato, capsicums, mushrooms and onions.
Meanwhile, the Japanese kitchen will be serving everyone’s favourite take on sushi and sashimi as well as blow-torched unagi and Tasmanian salmon tataki.
Desserts include warm Christmas pudding with brandy sauce, traditional mince tarts, a tropical trifle with mango, coconut and passionfruit, a Yule log made with peaches and Earl Grey tea and more.

Christmas Day Breakfast
Families, friends and couples can get a head start on Christmas festivities with a relaxed breakfast to start the day. The extensive breakfast options include smoked salmon, bacon rashers, grilled sausages, brandied mince tarts, muesli with cinnamon spiced fruit compote, freshly-baked ginger spiced donuts, Christmas stollen and eggs Benedict with smoked ham. Plus, diners can indulge in fluffy pancakes, indulgent chocolate croissants, locally grown fresh fruits and either a freshly squeezed juice or blended smoothie.
Breakfast is served from 6:30am until 10:30am. Adults can dine for $139.00 and children dine for $89.00.
Christmas Day Lunch at Clarendon Ballroom

Call off the search, The Langham, Melbourne’s Clarendon Ballroom’s Christmas lunch will be the ideal place to be for every generation and family member. Santa Claus himself will pay a visit and guests will be entertained by a band and roving entertainers. The Langham, Melbourne’s Clarendon Ballroom will be adorned with enchanting decorations to create the perfect setting in which to celebrate Christmas. Guests will be spoilt for choice with over 50 dishes being served. From West Australian rock lobster, scallops from the Bass Strait,
Victorian sand crabs to Moreton Bay bugs, Spencer Gulf prawns and South Australian oysters, the seafood station is destined to be popular with pescatarians and lovers of seafood.
Roast turkey, honey-glazed ham, grass-fed beef, five-spiced duck pancakes, high country pork belly, rack of lamb plus plenty of options for vegetarians will ensure every family member is well looked after.
Desserts include traditional favourites such as a mixed berry pavlova as well as spiced red wine, strawberry and rhubarb crumble, gingerbread cookies and a blackberry tart to name just a few.
There will also be a “Kids Only” room complete with games and a slushie machine for the young and the young at heart. Children 12 years old and younger will receive a Christmas present from Santa Claus.
Lunch will be served from 12:00pm until 3:30pm.

Guests are encouraged to design their own menu at Melba Restaurant’s live cooking stations with over 40 delectable dishes from the traditional festive favourites to diverse flavours from different cuisines including Italian, Indian, Japanese and Western. Special dishes include a local leg of lamb from Creswick, sambal chicken stir-fry, aubergine masala and a Singapore laksa.
And what about dessert? There will be mince pies, plum pudding, a Christmas trifle, pavlova, flourless chocolate cake plus Melba’s famous melted chocolate fountain featuring both dark and milk-flavoured molten chocolate.
Guests will also be able to enjoy wine from Coldstream Hills and Penfolds and a premium selection of sparkling wine and beers.

Christmas Day Afternoon Tea at Aria Bar & Lounge
Guests seeking an alternative to breakfast, lunch and dinner may opt to visit Aria Bar and Lounge and enjoy a Christmas-themed chocolate bar and afternoon tea.
Think Christmas stuffing quiche, roast turkey vol au vents, Yule logs, chocolate mince tarts, Christmas pudding as well as time-honoured favourites such as ribbon sandwiches and fluffy, freshly baked scones with Chantilly cream served with free flowing espresso coffee, hot chocolate and loose-leaf Wedgwood teas.
$129.00 per adult includes a glass of sparkling wine on arrival and $99.00 per child.
There will be two servings from noon until 2.30pm and 3pm concluding at 5pm.
