The Langham’s Fifth Avenue address closes out 2017 with a new award, new Presidential Suite, new spa and a new name
(New York, NY – 27 November 2017) – The end of the year always brings with it both reminisces of successes throughout the previous 12 months as well as exciting plans for the future. December 2017 promises to be no different, as The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue– formerly known as Langham Place, New York –wraps up a successful year that brought with it the title of #1 Hotel in New York City; a brand new Presidential Suite by Roche Bobois; a new full-service spa, Chuan Spa Health + Wellness – and a new name with which to start 2018.
As part of The Langham Hotels & Resorts by Hong Kong-based Langham Hospitality Group, The Langham, New York will now go by the designation with which most The Langham guests are already familiar. This new christening brings closer its affiliation to the group’s luxury flagship hotel and namesake in London, and the three existing hotels in the United States – The Langham, Boston; The Langham, Chicago, and The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. The two upcoming hotels in the United States will also bear The Langham name – The Langham, Wade Park, opening outside of Dallas in 2019; and The Langham, San Francisco, premiering in the trendy Soma neighborhood in 2020.

This new identity comes on the heels of a banner year for The Langham, New York. Not only did 2017 bring the completion of a year-long renovation process, resulting in the brand new Presidential Suite by Roche Bobois on the 27th floor, and the elegantly-designed Chuan Body + Soul spa, but this was the year that the readers of Condé Nast Traveler named The Langham the #1 top hotel in New York City, as well as the #2 of The 10 Best Hotels in the U.S. and #30 out of 50 of The Best Hotels in the World.
The Langham’s other U.S. properties were also recognized on the Condé Nast Traveler list in the following order: The Langham, Chicago (#2 in Chicago); The Langham, Boston (#8 in Boston) and The Langham Huntington, Pasadena (#15 in Los Angeles).
The Langham Hotels & Resorts overall was given the Platinum award on Money Magazine’s “The Best Hotels in the World” list for 2017, and was voted #12 out of 15 of the “World’s Best Hotel Brands” by Travel + Leisure in 2016. In 2016, the brand’s advertising campaign, “The Art of The Say” won Gold in the Advertising category at the HSMAI (Hospitality and Sales Marketing Association International) Adrian Awards; and the newly re-launched webpage for The Langham Hotels & Resorts also won Gold the same year.
