But while Dannii’s work commitments frequently see her travelling the world, it’s in her native Australia that she feels most relaxed and most balanced. This is particularly true whenever she visits her most cherished sanctuaries: The Langham Hotels.
From hosting dinners for family friends at The Langham, Melbourne, to weekend breaks at The Langham, Sydney; Dannii considers The Langham a real home from home.
“It’s about the senses to me—that’s what makes a hotel memorable,” says Dannii, adding that her sensory journey at The Langham began with the distinctive aroma that she breathed in on her first visit.
Her favourite scent blend is “an even mix of sweet orange, peppermint and cinnamon. It’s calming and uplifting all at once.” Although the smell of hot coffee in the morning runs a close second. “I love the steam that rises with a morning coffee,” she says.
However, it’s at The Langham, Gold Coast that Dannii really loves to indulge all her senses—especially feasting her eyes on the incredible natural beauty that lies on the hotel’s beachfront doorstep, from the uninterrupted Pacific Ocean views and endless golden sands to the lush rainforest and verdant terrain of the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Her other senses are equally energised when she takes barefoot walks along the beach at sunrise, feeling the soft sand beneath her toes while her tastebuds tingle with the fresh salt air, and the soothing sound of the crashing waves echoes in her ears.
Health and wellness is also a key part of Dannii’s day, whether at home or travelling, and her own regular routine includes walking, swimming, meditation, yoga, and “ceremonial-grade matcha tea, it’s full of antioxidants.” And when at The Langham, Gold Coast, a visit to the spa for a revitalising massage is always on her agenda—followed by a lazy afternoon by the poolside.
“I love sitting on the edge of the pool with my feet in, and the pleasure of poolside meals,” she says. “I also love to read by the pool. I’m not a sun worshiper anymore—I chase gentle sun. Not sun that makes tan lines!”
