THE LANGHAM AFTERNOON TEA

When The Langham opened in London in 1865, it made history as the world’s first hotel to serve afternoon tea, a tradition inspired by the seventh Duchess of Bedford, who experienced a long gap between lunch and dinner.

Today, as we celebrate the Langham’s 160th anniversary, we present a new interpretation of Battenberg cake, originally introduced in 1884 to mark the marriage of Princess Victoria, Daughter of Queen Victoria, to Prince Louis of Battenberg.
