When The Langham opened in London in 1865, it made history as the world’s first hotel to serve afternoon tea, a tradition inspired by the seventh Duchess of Bedford. The Duchess would become hungry around 4 p.m., as dinner was served fashionably late at 8 p.m., this left a long period of time between lunch and dinner. This fits perfectly with the brand’s British heritage.

Now, 160 years later, The Langham, Jakarta continues this legacy with a refined afternoon tea experience. Blending British heritage with French flair, Executive Chef Jeremy Jouan and his team have reimagined this classic ritual with a modern twist.
