For our couples the most important focus is on the wedding day and the journey to this destination. However, as with many things, it is important to look at the bigger picture o today, we would like to introduce to you, NameSwitch, who focus on helping couples with the important details after their wedding day.

WHAT IS NAME SWITCH? AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
NameSwitch is a unique, online service that helps newlyweds cut through the name-changing process, across their profiles and accounts. We have over 700 government bodies and companies, together with their specific name-changing processes mapped onto our systems.
We help thousands of newlyweds navigate through this maze every year, saving them on average 14 hours of stop-start research, form filling, and letter writing. We are the only UK based company to offer this dedicated service to our couples.
NameSwitch does not contact the companies, since we do not have power of attorney. The initiation is directly from the newlyweds, who will need to sign & date the letters/forms.
We provide each couple with a comprehensive pack that includes all of their pre-populated letters, forms and personalised instructions needed to notify their selected companies and government bodies. We get them as close to the finish line as possible.
ONCE ALL THE CORRECT DOCUMENTS ARE SUBMITTED, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE NAME?
Most things are updated within 5-10 working days, such as: NHS records, bank accounts, credit cards, mortgages, utility accounts, savings, insurance and pensions.
Passports can take a few weeks (there is a 7 day-fast track service available), and the DVLA have been experiencing a long backlog post pandemic.
We do strongly recommend that couples obtain 2-4 original copies of their marriage certificate (each, if they are both changing names) to enable multiple name-change requests to be sent off in parallel.
Is there a time limit on when a newlywed can change their name?
Not at all. There’s no legal requirement to change names after marriage.
CAN THE COUPLE CHANGE THEIR NAME BEFORE THE WEDDING IN ORDER TO USE THEIR NEW NAME ON HONEYMOON AND PASSPORTS?

HOW DOES PRICING FOR THE NAME SWITCH SERVICE WORK?
We have a number of affordable packages to choose from - whether it be name change notification packages (ideal for those using their marriage certificate to change their name) or deed poll packages for those who require a slight twist on tradition.
