Peter Clark finds, folds, and layers recycled paper to sculpt collages of animals, garments, and people. After a career as a designer and illustrator, he began focusing on his collage work in 1999.
Known for his quirky portraits of dogs, Clark's work is highly detailed and precise. His collages are crafted entirely from paper sourced from junkyards, garage sales, and flea markets. Remarkably, he does not use any paint to create his vibrant compositions. Instead, he carefully assembles likenesses by utilizing the existing patterns and palettes of his materials. His works skillfully play with line, shape, and color, immortalizing his subjects with humor and flair.
