The hotel immerses itself in a number of long term partnerships that are carefully selected to ensure they are not only aligned with hotel’s commitment to the environment and the local community; but also aligned with Langham Hospitality Group’s commitment to become a role model amongst hospitality operators for environmental impact, awareness and reduction.

Partner with Luwan Special Needs Education School

Luwan Special Needs Education school covers 3-year preschool, 9-year compulsory education and 3-year vocational education to disabled children. We frequently arrange “Langham in Angles’ Eyes” painting competitions with the class and continue to develop a long term relationship with the school.

Partner with Shanghai Sunny House Disabled Home

Hotel visits Sunny House which is a charity organisation for mentally disabled children quarterly. Various activities are arranged, one of which being the involvement in making traditional food with kids or helping to arrange festivals. Other activities include art classes and handcraft activities.

Partner with Shanghai Young Baker

Shanghai Young Baker is a charity program providing French bakery to marginalised Chinese youth, enabling them to find qualified jobs and lead independent lives after graduation. We accommodated 2 students to have 10-month internship in our pastry department. Also DHR conducted 2 sessions of interview skills training & career talk to their students.

Colleagues Volunteering

Each year, through our community partners, The Langham, Shanghai completes over a hundred hours of service to give back to the local community and the environment.  We participate in Loving Earth Month to raise the environmental awareness of our guests and colleagues; and we also partner with local charities in regards to winter clothing donation programs, Elderly care home visits, primary school visitations and the local “clean up the World” program; to name a few.
